Alex is a partner in CWRW.  He has experience representing a diverse range of clients in connection with commercial real estate and business transactions, including owners, developers, tenants, equity investors and lenders.

He has handled a wide variety of real estate and lending projects, including acquisition, development and disposition of retail, restaurant, office, multifamily, hotel and condominium projects; leasing of retail, office, medical and industrial properties; financing of major development and construction projects; foreclosures; and investment/ownership structuring.

Alex has been selected as a “Texas Rising Star” by Texas Monthly and Law & Politics magazines in every year from 2006 to 2012.

Recent transactions include representations of:

  • Publicly traded foreign oilfield services company in leasing of new U.S. drilling headquarters, leasing and subsequent acquisition of drilling technical support and training center, and leasing, acquisition and disposition of office, shop and yard locations throughout the U.S.
  • Economic development corporation in connection with the leasing and disposition of property in master-planned technology park, acquisition of vacant land for expansion of technology park, and negotiation of development and economic incentive agreements with local, regional, national and international companies.
  • Regional credit union in acquisition and development of new branch locations.
  • Regional restaurant chain in acquisition of various franchisees, including $100 million acquisition involving 47 leased and owned restaurant sites in three U.S. states.
  • Regional restaurant chain in acquisition of new national corporate headquarters in San Antonio, Texas.
  • Restaurant in acquisition, leasing and development of restaurant sites and training centers in Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida and Mississippi.
  • Franchisee of national restaurant chain in negotiation of leases for new restaurant sites.
  • Developer in acquisition, redevelopment and leasing of medical office building in Georgia.
  • Developer in disposition of on-campus medical office ground leases in Oklahoma City.
  • Developer in acquisition of existing shopping center in Dallas, Texas (including assumption of existing securitized financing) and subsequent negotiation of retail leases with local, regional and national tenants.
  • Landlords in negotiation of retail, office, medical and industrial leases and subleases.
  • Regional bank in originations of new loans secured by real property, negotiation of forbearance agreements and non-judicial foreclosures of real property.
  • Equity investors and ownership groups in the negotiation of limited partnership and limited liability company agreements.
